Choose your practice route
Select Ordinary or Higher Level. Start in Study Mode if you need ideas, vocabulary or grammar help, then use Exam Mode to answer without the support. The guide describes the tools currently available in this module.
Conversation: extend your answer
Choose a topic and listen to the question. Give a direct answer in Italian, then add a reason and a relevant example. Type or dictate it and select Evaluate Answer. Use one correction from the feedback in your next spoken attempt.
Roleplays: practise the exchange
Open Roleplays, select a situation and read its instructions. Play the examiner audio, answer the required points and send your reply. Listen before each response rather than relying only on a memorised script. Use hints to learn a difficult turn, then repeat it independently.
Storie: describe events in order
Open Storie (Pictures) and choose a story. Keep the matching picture sequence from your textbook or exam papers beside you. Describe what happens in the pictures and select Evaluate Description. The tool checks the description you submit; your own pictures provide the visual context.
Mock: a conversation practice session
Start Mock Exam (5 Questions) gives five conversation questions, including past and future prompts. Review each answer and continue through the set. This route does not combine role plays and picture stories into a full mock. Practise those separately using their tabs.
Example: build a personal answer
Mi piace la musica perché mi rilassa. Ascolto musica ogni giorno. Sabato scorso sono andato a un concerto. This gives an opinion, a habit and a past event. Use andata where appropriate, and keep examples relevant to the question.
Speak, dictate and listen
Add the Italian keyboard in your device settings. Tap the answer box and use the keyboard microphone to dictate, or type your answer. Set dictation to the language you are speaking and check that the transcript matches your words before submitting. If audio is silent, check the device volume and whether your browser has a suitable language voice. Try another browser or device if needed. The “listen to my answer” control reads the submitted text using a synthetic voice; it does not replay a recording of you.
Use feedback to improve your next attempt
The AI reviews your submitted text. It cannot reliably assess your pronunciation, pace or live interaction from a transcript. Treat scores as practice estimates. Check suggestions that seem doubtful with your teacher. Choose one useful correction and one phrase, then answer again aloud in your own words.
A 15-minute practice routine
- 3 minutes: choose one topic and prepare a few useful words or a structure in Study Mode.
- 5 minutes: answer aloud, submit your response and read the feedback.
- 4 minutes: repeat the answer without reading, then practise one more question or task.
- 3 minutes: note one improvement and one target for next time.
Before your next session
- I can understand the question and answer it directly.
- I can add a relevant reason or example.
- I have practised one correction aloud.
- I know which task or topic to practise next.
